“Wrongdoing has no political colour, and I do not subscribe to the lawlessness of political party supporters simply because their party has been elected into office. When those incidents began, I instructed the then Inspector General of Police, John Kudalor, to apply the law, irrespective of political affiliation, to all lawbreakers. This instruction was also carried on to his successor, David Asante Appeatu. Both of them acted upon it, which helped to bring the situation under control.”

His Majesty King 👑 Mohammed VI.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, of the Kingdom of Morocco, on Thursday, February 16, 2017, arrived in Ghana for the commencement of a 3-day official visit. It will be recalled that the King’s proposed earlier visit, originally scheduled for January 18, 2017, was postponed.

The visit, which is aimed at deepening the existing, cordial relations between Ghana and Morocco, will also present the two countries with an opportunity to define new areas of co-operation that would serve their mutual interests.

On Friday, February 17, President Akufo-Addo will hold bilateral talks with King Mohammed VI, before hosting him to an official lunch at the Presidency.

King Mohammed VI will depart for Morocco on Saturday, February, 18, 2017.

“FREE SHS TO COMMENCE FROM SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR” – PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured that his government “will fund the cost of public Senior High Schools for all those who qualify for entry from the 2017/2018 academic year onwards.”

Spelling out the details of policy, “so that no one in Ghana is left in any doubts”, President Akufo-Addo explained that “by free SHS, we mean that, in addition to tuition which is already free, there will be no admission fees, no library fees, no science centre fees, no computer lab fees, no examination fees, no utility fees; there will be free textbooks, free boarding and free meals, and day students will get a meal at school for free.”
